Mixed Media Artist

The artist I chose to look at is actually a collaborative project for several different RVCA ad's. The designer Erin acted as both the clothing designer and also the model. Photographer David Mushegain and Illustrator Alia Penner worked together to create the final ad's. I liked the use of color pencil with black and white photography. I think that it gave the advertisements more character and the style goes along with the clothing.

Belynda Sharples created her first collection in 2005. This collection is made up of wallpapered designs that can be found amongst her sketchbook. Her influences came from her lifetime of drawing experience and every day occurences. Sharples took these drawings and turned them into different patterns that created a new feel to wallpaper with drawn line.

Florence Broadhurst

Florence Broadhurst established her revolutionary wallpaper business in 1959 and monopolized the Australian Market. She abandoned the constrictions of mass-production and became more liberal in her use of design and colors. She created hundreds of luxurious patterns and drew inspiration from nature and geometric shapes. By 1972, her collection included over 800 designs in 80 different colors.
